Got Questions?
We've got answers. Here's everything you need to know about tapdub, dubs, taps, and making habit tracking actually fun.
🚀 The Basics
tapdub is the chillest habit tracking app out there. Think of it as a super simple way to track literally anything in your life. You create "dubs" (categories for things you want to track) and "tap" them whenever you do that thing.
Coffee? Tap it. Gym session? Tap it. Called your mom? Definitely tap that. It's that simple.
A dub is basically a category for something you want to track. It could be a habit you're building, something you're curious about, or just anything you want to count.
Examples: "Morning Coffee", "Gym Sessions", "Books Read", "Glasses of Water", "Meditation", "Date Nights"... you get the idea. If you can do it, you can dub it.
A tap is when you log an activity. Every time you do the thing your dub represents, you tap it. One tap = one entry.
You can do a quick tap (just tap and go) or a story tap where you add notes, photos, or extra context. Totally up to you.
Yep! tapdub is free to download and use. We might add some premium features down the road, but the core experience - creating dubs, tapping, tracking, and sharing - is totally free.
🎯 All About Dubs
There are three types of dubs, each with different visibility settings:
Private Dubs
Just for you. Nobody else can see them. Track your guilty pleasures or personal goals in peace.
Public Dubs
Visible on your profile. Share your journey with the world and inspire others.
Shared Dubs
Invite friends to join! Everyone can tap the same dub. Perfect for group challenges.
Private dubs are completely invisible to everyone except you. They won't show up on your profile, in search results, or anywhere else. Only you can see them, tap them, and view their stats.
Perfect for tracking personal things like medication, therapy sessions, or that secret snack habit you're trying to break. No judgment here.
Public dubs are visible on your profile and can be seen by anyone who visits. Your taps, streaks, and stats are all public. It's like sharing your journey with the world.
Great for accountability! When you know others can see your progress, you're more likely to stick with it. Plus, you might inspire someone else to start their own habit.
Yep! You can change your dub's visibility anytime in the dub settings. Go from private to public, public to shared, whatever you need.
Heads up: If you change a shared dub to private, all participants will be removed. They'll keep their own tap history, but won't be part of the dub anymore.
As many as you want! Go wild. Track everything. We're not gonna stop you.
📊 Tracking & Stats
Quick tap: One tap, done. No fuss, no muss. Just log that you did the thing and move on with your life.
Story tap: Add some context! Write a note, attach a photo, include your location. Perfect for when you want to remember the details later - like that amazing coffee you had in that cute little cafe.
Streaks track consecutive days where you've tapped a dub. Tap your "Morning Run" dub every day for 7 days? That's a 7-day streak. Miss a day? Streak resets to zero.
We also track your longest streak ever, so even if your current streak breaks, your achievements are saved forever.
You can delete a tap within 15 minutes of logging it. After that, it's locked in. This keeps your data honest and prevents accidental (or intentional) stat manipulation.
Accidentally tapped the wrong dub? Just delete it within that 15-minute window and you're good.
Yep! You can tap your dubs even when you're offline. Your taps will be saved locally and synced automatically when you're back online.
Perfect for logging workouts at the gym (bad reception), hikes in the mountains, or flights. Your data won't get lost.
🔐 Account & Privacy
Your public profile is visible to anyone with your profile link. It shows your username, avatar, bio, and any public dubs you've created.
Private dubs never appear on your profile. Only you can see those.
Absolutely. Go to Settings > Account > Delete Account. Your data will be permanently removed from our servers. This can't be undone, so make sure you really want to do it.
We collect what we need to make the app work: your email, username, and the data you create (dubs, taps, etc.). Location data is only collected if you choose to add it to a tap.
We don't sell your data. Ever. Check out our Privacy Policy for the full details.
